Biography

Rachael Griffith was born on 10 Aug 1832 in either Indiana or Ohio.^[1] She was the daughter of Charles Greenberry Griffith and Jane (Johnson) Griffith.^[1][2]

Rachel married William C. Soper on May 26, 1854 in Jennings County, Indiana.^{[3] [4]} The marriage license was issued on May 25, 1854.^[3] William and Rachel had two known children, Oscar A. Soper born about 1856 and Mary Soper born about 1857.^[5][6] Sometime after the 1870 census, the family moved to Indianapolis, where they are found in the 1880 census.^[7]

Rachel died on February 22, 1898 in Marion County, Indiana.^[8] She is likely buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis (Marion County), Indiana.^[9]
