Biography
The community of Windthorst, Ford, Kansas in the late 1800's was largely Roman Catholic and the early settlers built a church named Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in about the year 1878. In 1978, the Parish celebrated by publishing a centennial book. It included summaries of the 1880 and 1885 Census reports for the various early settler families. The John A. Torline family was one of those published with wife Mary (nee Pund) and their ten children. Leander was married to Caroline, one of those children. [1]
