Biography

Nathaniel Grigsby

He was born in 1716, in Stafford County, Virginia. He was a resident of Loudoun County, Virginia.[1]
Nathaniel performed patriotic and civil service during the American Revolution.[1] He was designated as a Virginia patriot by the DAR and the SAR.
Nathaniel married twice:
  1. Elizabeth Butler[1]
  2. Susanna Linton Smith[1]
He had at least two children:
Nathaniel died in Nelson County, Kentucky, before 14 September 1801,[1] when his will was probated.[2]

Research Notes

His DAR record notes that "which wife of the Patriot was the mother of Joseph" could not be determined at this time (2008; noted in online record March 2011).[1] James, born before 1 August 1756, is the son of Elizabeth Butler (who died in 1756).[3]
