John Grigsby remarried to Elizabeth (or Eliza) Louisa Thompson in 1833.
John and Louisa moved from Illinois to Texas in 1834 along with the 8 children of John and Hester Sharp.
John Grigsby, Louisa and all 8 of their children appear in the Tax Records taken in 1835 in the Teneha District of the Texas Territory, Benjamin appears as:[2]
Name: Benjamin Grigsby
State: TX
County: Texas Territory
Township: Teneha District
Year: 1835
Database: TX Tax List Index, 1830-1839
This is the last (and only) official record of Benjamin Grigsby. His twin bother James appears in later census, marriage and other records, but this is the last thing we ever see about Benjamin Grigsby.
It is supposed that he died shortly after the above Tax Record, or within a few years. There is no mention of Benjamin during probate after his father John Grigsby's death in 1841.
