Ruth was born in 1892. She was the daughter of Walter Bruce Grimes and Ada Lenover. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]}

Ruth was married to Raymond Hood Ewing. ^[6] The 1940 census lists two children: Mary Ada and James W. ^[7]

Ruth passed away in 1982. She is buried in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples, Wadena County, Minnesota, USA. ^{[4] [5]}
