Biography
Philip Grimes son of Sarah Donaldson
In about 1754 he served as Corporal in the Fairfax Militia. Soon after he moved his family to Kentucky.
Philip's stone house and mill still stand on Grimes Hill Road, near Lexington, Kentucky.
He was known as the "Miller of Lexington".
Some of his descendants migrated to the Cape Girardeau, Missouri area.
Other children were Mary and James. Mary married a Baptist Minister, William H Payne. Their daughter, Polly, married Micajah Harrison. William Payne was also married a second time to a Harrison. [1]
