Biography

Elizabeth, later known as Betty Anne, was born November 7, 1918 in New Brunswick, Middlesex, New Jersey, United States. Her father was Francis H. "Harry" Grimes and Loretta V (McCourt) Grimes.^[1]

In 1920, one year old Elizabeth lived at 203 Commercial Avenue in New Brunswick, Middlesex, New Jersey, United States with her father Harry (age 29) and mother Loretta (shown as Loretto, age 29). Her father worked for the water department.^[2]

In 1930, eleven year old Elizabeth lived at 234 Stifofiver Street inNew Brunswick, Middlesex, New Jersey, United States with her father Harry (age 39) and mother Loretta (age 39).^[3]

Following graduation from New Brunswick High School, using the name Betty Anne, Elizabeth graduated from the St. Peters General Hospital School of Nursing. She lived with her parents at 234 Powers Street in New Brunswick, Middlesex, New Jersey, United States until her marriage.^[4]

Betty Anne married William M Connolly Jr March 30, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Church in New Brunswick, Middlesex, New Jersey, United States. Betty Anne's cousin, Loretta McCourt, was maid of honor and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. John J West. Following the wedding reception attended by 150 guests, Betty Anne and William left for a two week trip to Washington, District of Columbia.^[4]
