HISTORY OF HENRY GRINSTEAD, JR.
Henry Grinstead, Jr. was born in 1827 in Hart Co., KY. His parentswere Henry Grinstead, Sr. and Sarah Ferrill.
He served in the War of 1812.
He married Sarah Ann Duke on November 14, 1855 in Glasgow, BarrenCo., Kentucky at the home of her mother, Elizabeth Duke. Her parentswere John Duke and Elizabeth Drumright. They had five children.
He married second, Nancy E. Coomes on December 30, 1878. Nancy wasborn in 1850, in Kentucky. They were married at the home of William Coomes, the bride's step-father. Their children were Robert T.Grinstead, b. 1880, in Kentucky and a step-son, Robert Coomes.
He married third, Sarah Patterson Murdock Riochardson Gallimore onSeptember 11, 1891 in Randolph County, Ark. They lived near Cave City, Kentucky at PrewittsKnob. Henry made wagons for a living. Henry died before 1896.

"This is to certify that on the 14th day of November 1855 the rites of marriage were legally solemized by me, between Henry Grinstead, Jr. and Sarah Ann Duke at Eliza Bethel Duke in the county of Barren in the presence of Isac Smith and James Gasaway. Signe, James Brofles." I have the certificate, Mary Murdock.

"Be it known that we Henry Grinstead as principle, and C.W. Coleman assurety, are jointly and severally bound to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the sum of one hundred dollars. The condition of this bond is a follows: That, wereas Marriage is intended to be solemized between the above bound Henry Grinstead and NancyE. Coomes. Now, if there is no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage, this bond shall be void, otherwise it shall remain in full force and effect. Dated at Edmonton, Metcalfe County, this 30 day of Dec 1878. Signed, Henstead and C.W. Coleman. C. W. Thompson, Clerk."

Henry Grinstead, Jr. married Sarah Gallimore whose maiden name was Patterson. Sarah married five times.

In order of marrigages, she married: 1-Samuel R. Murdock 2. Wm. Richardson 3. Tilman S. Gallimore 4. Henry Grinstead, Jr. 5. William Haley

To complicate matters more, Henry Grinstead, Jr. was the father of Pedovia Mossie Grinstead who married Sarah's son, Thomas William Murdock.
