Benjamin Franklin Grinstead was born 5 Sep 1820 and died 17 Apr 1893.[1] He married Catherine Ann Ingram in about 1840, and he married Eunice McClure 3 Jan 1878 in Smyth Co., Virginia. [2]

Both were b. in VA; place of his death is NOT known, but was NOT at Charleston, WV. They lived in Washington Co., VA at time of the 1850 and 1860 Census reports. Fourteen children: Hannah V; Andrew Cunningham; Minerva C.; Jacob Valentine; Doreas; Edward Walton; Parker Smith; Margaret Ann; William M.; Jasper Newton; Thomas Orr; Sallie F.; Samuel Robert Lee; Charles M Grinstead."

He worked most of his life as a miller at Love's Mill located at Love Mill, Virginia. The mill still exists in 1997 and still operates by water from the Holstin River.
The family bible states that he died in Charleston, WV, but records indicating this could not be found.
