Mary Griswold, daughter of George and Mary Griswold, was born 28 Sep. 1663. Her birth was recorded at Windsor, Connecticut.[1]
Disputed Origins Discussion
The Parsons Family book (Parsons Family, Descendants of Cornet Joseph Parsons, Springfield, 1636---Northampton, 1655) states on see at archive.org p. 71 that a Benjamin Cooley was husband of a Mary Griswold who was a daughter of George Griswold and granddaughter of Francis Griswold of Lynn Regis, England. Benjamin and Mary's daughter, Abigail Cooley, was born Feb. 22, 1691, died June 8, 1763; She married Daniel Parsons.
The Griswold family, England-America : Edward of Windsor, Connecticut, Matthew of Lyme, Connecticut, Michael of Wethersfield, Connecticut states on pages 36-36,( see page in Archives.org) that the wife of Joseph Cooley was a daughter of George Griswold, son of Edward Griswold.
The First Century of the History of Springfield, referenced below, says that a Joseph Cooley married a Mary Griswold. They migrated to Somers Connecticut.
It doesn't look like the Mary Griswold in the Parsons' book is the same as this Mary. However, the Mary in #2 The Griswold Family might be the same as the one in #3 The First Century of the History of Springfield. If so, a cleanup and merge would make sense.
A bit more research is called for.
Research in Great Migration documentation might be fruitful.
Also need to review the sources referenced in the Griswold book.
