John Gorton was born Manchester, Lancashire, England in abt. 1640. ^[1]

John married Margaret Weeden 25 JAN 1665. ^[2] John married Margaret Wooten on June 28th 1668 in Warwick, Kent Rhode Island. ^[3][4] Their children were:

Benjamin Gorton

John died in 3 FEB 1713/14.^[8] He died intestate. His date of death, 3 February 1713/14 is recorded in the heading of his inventory which was taken on 3 July 1714 in Warwick, Rhode Island.^[9]
