Biography

Etienne François Grégoire was born and baptized on 2 Dec 1780 in Sainte-Marie parish in Beauce. He was the son of Etienne Grégoire and his first wife Geneviève Grenier, Godparents at the infant Etienne's baptism were his maternal grandfather Jean-Baptiste Grinier [sic] and his paternal grandmother Marie-Ursule Levasseur (wife of Louis Gregoire). At age 21 Etienne married first wife Catherine Parent on 27 Jul 1802 in Sainte-Marie parish; there were six known children born into this marriage. Catherine died in Dec 1820. At age 44 Etienne married second wife Marie-Louise Faucher on 21 Nov 1825 in Sainte-Marie parish; there were six known children born into this marriage. Etienne died at age 74 on 27 Mar 1855; he was buried the next day in Saint-Elzear parish cemetery in Beauce.
