My grandmother, Emma Guenther Preusse, and my grandfather, William Preusse, both passed away before I was born, in 1940 and 1944 respectively so I never got to know them. All I ever heard about Emma was that her parents died in Germany when she was a small child. No one ever mentioned her parent’s name nor whether she had any brothers or sister and that she came to the US with her aunt and uncle Henze (probably Fredrich William Henze and wife Augusta Guenther Henze) . That sadly is all I know. The 1900 Census states that she came to the US in 1890 but do not think that is the exact date so she definitely could have come with Friedrich and Christina Henze in 1888. As I mentioned she was born February 17, 1872 in Germany and I have always assumed Saxony-Anhalt. She and William were married on November 7, 1892. The marriage license only shows a pastor’s name and it is a Travis County marriage license. William was born in Germany October 18, 1871 and came to the US with his parents Gottfried and Louise Preusse --- Possible match:

  • Family research uncertain but shows that Emma is a niece of Auguste Guenther Henze
