Lydia's parents were Hon. Anthony Gulliver (1620-1706) and Elinor Kingsley of Milton, Massachusetts ca 1658. The surname Calipher, as an alternate to Gulliver, is referenced in the records of Lydia's marriage to James Leonard.[1]Additionally, according to "New England Marriages Prior to 1700", the name Gulliver appears under various forms of spelling, including: Caliphar, Colliforn, Cullifer, Gullliwer, Gouliver, Gulliwer, Gullifer, and Gulliver.[2]
Lydia and James were married in October of 1675[1] and had nine known children together, all born in Taunton.[3]
