Biography

Henry was born July 5, 1837 in Pendleton county WV. He was the son of Amos Gum and Sarah Rexroad. Henry married Sarah Ann White October 20, 1859 in Lewis County WV. Sarah is the daughter of Solomon White and Catherine Halterman. They had four children Rachel Virgina Gum born May 20, 1860, James WIlliam Gum born February 1862, John Gum born September 16, 1864, and Henry Gum Jr. born October 7, 1866. Henry passed away April 17, 1913 in at Roberts Fork (New Milton), Doddridge Co, WV. He is buried in the Lough (Loft) Cemetery, Roberts Fork, New Milton, Doddridge County WV.
