When Nancy Gunter was born on 10 February 1780, in Chatham, North Carolina, United States, her father, James Isham Gunter, was 42 and her mother, Hester Pilkinton, was 14. She married Joseph Elijah Buckley about 1798. She had at least 6 sons and 2 daughters. She lived in Jasper, Mississippi, United States in 1850. She died on 11 May 1863, in Fellowship, Jasper, Mississippi, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in Jasper, Mississippi, United States.
