John Allan Haas HAAS, John Allan – A longtime Yreka, California resident, passed away at home on Monday, March 10, 1997. He was 57 years old. Mr. Haas was born in Fullerton, California and attended local schools there. He moved to Siskiyou County in the early 1960's after severing in the Armed Services and being honorable discharged in 1960. He lived for a number of years down the Klamath River before moving to Yreka. In the early years he worked as a long haul truck driver and worked for Hi-ridge Lumber and Yreka Western Railroad. He enjoyed the outdoors, flyfishing and making hand-tied fishing flies. He was a longtime member of the Yreka Rifle club and a member of The Outcasters. He is survived by his wife, Rita of Yreka, California; two children Robert Haas of Yreka, California and Lisa Hoppe of Lemoore; his brother, Larry Haas of Winnemucca, Nevada; a sister, Judy Black of Fullerton, California; two uncles Floyd and Howard Haas of Roseburg; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 13, 1997 at 10 a.m. in Girdner Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Madrone Hospice, P.O.
