European Aristocracy
Mariana Habsburg was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.

Biography

Mariana de Austria (Maria Anna Habsburg) was born on December 24, 1634 in Wiener Neustadt, Herzogtum Österreich, Heiliges Römisches Reich. Her parents were Ferdinand III and Maria Anna Habsburg.

She married her uncle Felipe IV on October 07, 1649. Together they had 2 children:

  1. Margarita Habsburg b. 1651-07-12
  2. Carlos II b. 1661-11-06

Because the Spanish Habsburg frequently married close relatives the inbreeding coefficient of their children was 0.254, much higher than what is expected in the offspring of an uncle and nice, and even highter that what is expected in the offstring of 2 siblings (0.25).[1]

After the death of Felipe IV she became queen regent of Spain from 1665 to 1675.

She died on May 16, 1696 in Palacio de Uceda, Madrid, España.
