Biography
William Hacker was born 1749 in Poundstock, Cornwall, a son of Thomas Hacker and his second wife Honour Brock. He was baptized 15 October.[1] He died in 1832 and was buried 29 May at North Tamerton, Cornwall, where he had resided.[2]
William Hacker married Jane Hobbes 25 August 1773 at St Neot's church in Poundstock.[3] They had at least a dozen children, but of the two sons listed named Thomas, only one, Hacker-332 had a baptismal record showing William as the father. Since the baprismal date of this Thomas is given as 5 January 1787, the same date as son Henry Hacker, whose birth record does exist, it is possible that the profile of Hacker-332 was created in confusion and the two sons are not twins. Further research is advisable.
