Sarah Hacker was a daughter of Joshua Hacker and his wife Martha. She was born in 1754, probably in Newport, Rhode Island, where her father was made freeman that same year.[1] She married Joseph Peck in 1779. They resided in Providence, Rhode Island. Three daughters and a son were born to the marriage.[2]
Sarah's husband and her father, both merchants, were in business together from about 1789 to 1793 and probably for some years before that. The year after Joshua Hacker's death, Joseph Peck purchased portions of his estate, including shares in his mansion house, from several of the other heirs.[3]

Sarah Peck, wife of Capt. Joseph, died at Providence, Rhode Island, on 17 February 1816, in 63rd year.[4]
Austin erroneously gives Sarah's year of death as 1861, when she would have been 107 years old.[5]
