Descendant of Jeremah Hackett, a Revolutionary War Patriot.
- Frank W. Hackett was a civilian administrator and lawyer who served as an Assistant Secretary of the Navy under President William McKinley.
- During the American Civil War, he was an assistant paymaster serving the Atlantic Fleet. Hackett was on board the USS Miami during its skirmish against the CSS Albemarle. [1]After the war, he passed the bar exam and eventually opened a law office in Washington, D.C. From April 1900 to December 1901, Hackett served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy.

- In the 1860 census Frank (age 19), Student, was in Portsmouth Ward 1, Rockingham, New Hampshire.[3]He was a student at Harvard University.[4].
- He married Ida (also called Maria) in 1880. She was the daughter of an Admiral, and the granddaughter of Generals and Admirals.[5]
- In the 1910 census Frank (age 69), Lawyer, was the married head of household in Precinct 2, Washington, District of Columbia, United States.[6]
- He died in 1926.[7]
- He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington, Virginia, Plot: Sec: W, Site: 153-8[8]
