In 1901 he was living with his parents Tom and Emily and 3 siblings in Stockingford, Warwickshire. His father was a Bricklayer. [2]
Conscripted into the 1st/8th battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Given farm implements to drill with and given little training he was given his 1st rifle & sent into battle at Landrecies abt 40 km from Valenciennes. By noon he was dead./Landrecies, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
William is buried in Landrecies British Cemetery, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. [3]
