Geoffrey Percy Haddock was born on March 20, 1916[1]. He was the younger son of Percy Haddock and Agnes Hair.
HIs father Percy died on 22 October 1942 at age 60. His only brother Allen was killed in action on 1 October 1943 in the 2nd World War.
Geoff's name was published in the New Zealand, World War II Army Nominal Rolls (1939-1948). He was working as a Labourer in Te Kauwhata, Waikato at the time. He enlisted at Huntly and went on to serve as a Private with the 30th (Mixed) Battalion, Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. His next of kin was recorded as Mrs. A.J. Haddock, Kumeu. Service No. 64409
On his 2nd Embarkation he served as a Private with the 34th (Mixed) Battalion, Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. He was entitled to the War Medal (1939-1945) and the New Zealand War Service Medal.
He returned from the War and in the 1946 New Zealand, Electoral Rolls (1853-2010), Geoffrey Percy Haddock was recorded living at 25 Surrey Crescent in Grey Lynn, Auckland, employed as a Carpenter.
He married Lucy Effie Graham on March 31, 1956 at Hari Hari, Westland, West Coast, New Zealand.
In the 1969 New Zealand, Electoral Rolls (1853-2010), Geoffrey Percy Haddock was recorded living at Shelley Crescent in Nelson, South Island with his wife Lucy Effie Haddock, employed as a Carpenter.
Geoffrey Percy Haddock died on January 23, 1987 in Nelson, New Zealand and was buried at Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Tasman District, Tasman, New Zealand[2][3]. PLOT: Block C, Plot number 40, Row 6
