Biography
Birth
Baptised John Allison on 13 July 1822 in Bishopwearmouth, Durham, England, he was the base son of Jane Allison.[1]
By the time he was a mariner he was going by the name John Allison Haddock and his date of birth was given as 1 July 1822 on his Master's Certificate of Service -- #40.822 and when he married, he gave his father's name as William Haddock.[2]
His parents Jane Allison and William Haddock married several years after his birth on 29 August 1829 in Bishopwearmouth, Durham.
Marriage Bond
On 2 Nov 1846 John Allison Haddock of the parish of South Shields, St Hilda, mariner, bachelor of full age obtained a licence to marry Mary Meldrum a spinster of full age of the parish of Sunderland. [3]

I'm in the process of adding his siblings, each with LNAB of ALLISON rather than HADDOCK -- they must have added their LNAB as their middle name after their parents married ..... assuming by their names, that William Haddock was the father of all of them but not sure why William and Jane waited until Aug 1829 to marry??
