Baptised John Allison on 13 July 1822 in Bishopwearmouth, Durham, England, he was the base son of Jane Allison. Could you edit his LNAB to reflect this?
I'm in the process of adding his siblings, each with LNAB of ALLISON rather than HADDOCK -- they must have added their LNAB as their middle name after their parents married ..... assuming by their names, that William Haddock was the father of all of them but not sure why William and Jane waited until Aug 1829 to marry??
Thanks, Dallas. My goal with the alterations yesterday was to get this entire line of Haddocks and Meldrums connected to the wider tree. Successful, yay! I was puzzled about John but after a night's sleep, I did think about this scenario having already found the marriage Haddock/Allison marriage which was too late. I got up this morning determined to sort it out. Happily you had already done this. Thanks so much. Sadly it's not my profile and I can't make the changes to John's LNAB but at least he now has the correct parents.
Irene -- thanks! But now unfortunately, I've made a bit of a mess and need all the Haddock children merged with the Allison children and Jane Hope to be merged with Jane Allison, etc --- and "then" it'll be sorted out :-)
I'm going to add the 2 possibilites for Jane Allison's baptism under her Research Notes and hopefully someone down the road will be able to sort that one out.
Note that John gave his father's name as William on his marriage record. So far no evidence of the given parentage of John Haddock and Martha Dickenson.
