Biography
Elizabeth Brown Haden, daughter of William "Billy D" Haden, was born in Rowan County, North Carolina about 1811. She married James W. Smith before 1835; they had two children before moving to the Republic of Texas in Feb 1838, settling near the family of Elizabeth's sister, Justina, and her husband Benjamin M. Clopton. Their last three children were born in the Republic of Texas.
