In Memory of Lula Isobel Helge August 4, 1916 - January 8, 2012 Obituary Lula Isobel "Bell" Helge Lula Isobel "Bell" Helge, 95, of Austin passed away January 8, 2012 in Austin. She was born August 4, 1916 in Throckmorton County, Texas to James and Harriet Hagan. She graduated from Austin High School and attended beauty college in Austin. Bell operated her own beauty shop out of her home on Northwest Dr. for more than 35 yrs. Bell loved ceramics, crocheting and her collection of dolls. Bell married Swen Helge in 1940 and they celebrated more than 55 years together before his death in October, 1994. Swen and Bell were charter members of Northwest Baptist Church and attended and served at Crestview Baptist Church. She worked at Little Munchkins Learning Center for more than 15 years as an infant teacher along with her dear friend and sister-in-law, Darpha Helge. She lived in the same home for more than 60 years. Her love and affection were evident in her care and love for others. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Swen Helge, and a son, Arthur Swen Helge. She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Corbin and her husband, James, of Leander, and Dr. Doris Helge of Chehalis, WA; daughter- in-law, JoAnn Helge of Ft. Worth; four grandchildren and spouses; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 11th of January 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Thursday, the 12th of January, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas with Cameron Corbin and Dr. Bruce Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville, Texas. Active Pallbearers will be Kris Helge, Joshua Corbin, Jay Gallagher, Scott Greer, Bernie Helge, Terry Helge.
