Alfred L. Haggard, H1182F, son of Samuel and Nancy (Hix) Haggard, was born ca. 1792, Surray County, NC, married 20 February 1813, Roane County, TN, Letitia Mason[2], born ca. 1793, daughter of Daniel Mason. Records are incomplete but they appear to have had at least seven children:
  1. Daughter Haggard, born ca. 1814, Roane County, TN.
  2. Daughter Haggard, born ca. 1816, Roane County, TN.
  3. Son Haggard, born ca. 1820, Roane County, TN.
  4. Samuel Baldwin Haggard, H1182F4, born 1822, Franklin County, TN.
  5. Daughter Haggard, born ca. 1824, TN.
  6. Richmond M. Haggard, H1182F6, born ca. 1825, TN.
  7. Jamesile Haggard, born ca. 1836, Izard County, AR.
1814- Alfred L. Haggard, Private Chiles Battalion Mounted Gunmen, East Tennessee Volunteers, Captain Charles Conway's Company under Major John Chiles, was mustered into service 20 September 1814, discharged at Knoxville, TN, 1 May 1815. He received $148.80 for his horse and $8 a month for himself. He served seven months and twelve days. Age: 19 (1814 19=birth 1795), Height: 5 feet 9 inches, Complexion: dark, Hair: black, Eyes: Grey. Regiment taken from Roane County.
