DAVID W. HAHN

TAIPEI, TAIWAN--David Walter Hahn, 37, of Taipei, Taiwan, died Aug. 3, 1994.

He was born Jan. 22, 1957, in Providence, R.I. He grew up in Columbia, Mo., where he graduated from high school. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in English.

He attended graduate school at New York State University, then spent four years in the Peace Corps in Morocco. He taught English to Moroccan students.

He then worked in graduate school at the University of California, Riverside. After a year, he was offered a job teaching English at Josai University in Tokyo. He spent 1989-1994 teaching there as an associate professor until he moved to Taiwan in July 1994.

His interests included dance, literature and foreign languages.

He is survived by his mother, Patsy J. Hahn of Carlsbad, and his sister, Kathy Webster, of Midland, Texas.
