David Haight, son of Joseph Haight, married Phebe Mosher, daughter of Benjamin Mosher and Phebe (Brownell) Mosher on September 26, 1782 in the First Stanford Baptist Church of Stanford, Dutchess, New York.[1] He was disowned by the Nine Partners monthly meeting shortly thereafter for being "married contrary to the rules of friends."[2]

Yes, the 1811 date and place make much more sense and the source is certainly well-researched. I think the merge should go ahead, using the 1811 date and place.
I understand that... that is why I included a reference for you, which indicates the 1811 death date. They clearly had the same parents. There were 2 that they named David Haight but only one born in 1762.
Haight-85 and Haight-98 are not ready to be merged because: Charlotte Pct. and Washington, in Dutchess Co, NY are the same place, but the death dates and places are significantly different. This needs to be resolved before a match can be made.
Haight-85 and Haight-98 appear to represent the same person because: They appear to be the same person due to detailed information in the following record. Furthermore, Port Charlotte became Washington, NY. "They" are the 2nd David Haight born to these parents, Joseph and Mary Ann.
