Nicholas Haile III is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A049280.

Nicholas Haile, III was born November 2, 1724, in Baltimore, Maryland and was living in Baltimore during the American Revolutionary War. Nicholas took the "Oath of Fidelity," to the Patriotic cause, in Baltimore county, in 1778. [1] Nicholas is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor A049280. DAR records indicate that Nicholas died before July, 1818, in Washington county, Tennessee and that his wife's name was Ruth Acre. Applications for membership in the Society have been made by the descendants of their sons, Nicholas Haile, IV, who married Sarah "Sally" (?nee); Joshua Haile, who married Mary Gray ; Richard Haile; Amon Haile, who married Mary (?nee); and William Haile, who married Priscila Cage. Nicholas Haile III was born 2 Nov 1724 in Saint Paul Protestant Episcopal Church 'Parish', in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Maryland, of father Nicholas Haile and mother Ann Long [3] Nicholas wrote his will on 29 Apr 1807 in Washington County, Tennessee. It was proved in open court in July 1818. In it he named his children (6 sons: Richard, Wm, Nicolaus, Nathan, Amon, Joshua; 3 daus: Elizabeth Cage, Ruth Hale, Sarah Gray) and his wife (no name given in Will.) [4]

According to Nicholas' Find A Grave memorial, Nicholas lived to 100 years. This is not supported by any sources. See also: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/60971915/nicholas-haile His F.A.G. memorial is connected to one for Ruth Acres, who is given dates 1725-1827 (aged 101-102) These memorials should not be used for sources, without corroborating evidence.
