Edmond was a Friend (Quaker)

From Richard Haines and His Descendants: "Edmond [4th gen] (Abram, Richard, Richard) of Evesham Twp., Burlington Co., N.J. d. 1 mo. 5, 1766; m. under the care of Evesham MM, N.J., 4 mo. 2, 1762, Elizabeth Warrington, b. 7 mo. (Sept.) 3, 1739; d. Sept. 9, 1805; daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Bishop) Warrington. Intentions of marriage were declared, Evesham MM, 3 mo. 4, 1762, and the marriage was accomplished before 5 mo. 6, 1762. He was her 1st husband, she marrying 2d, 1787, Enoch Evans, son of William and Sarah (Roberts) Evans. William Evans was the son of Thomas Evans and Esther Haines (John, Richard). Elizabeth (Warrington) Haines was the 2d wife of Enoch Evans, his 1st wife being Mary Wilcox, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Iredell) Wilcox. Elizabeth Haines and daughter were received Burlington MM, N.J., 8 mo. 1, 1768, on certificate from Evesham MM dated 7 mo. 7, 1768. They were granted a certificate by Burlington MM, 6 mo. 6, 1774, on certificate from Chesterfield MM. They were granted a certificate by Burlington MM, 4 mo., 1781, to Evesham MM. His [Edmond's] will was dated Dec. 26, 1765, and was probated 2 mo. 21, 1766. An inventory of his personal property was taken 2 mo. 14, 1766."

The children of Edmond and Elizabeth (Warrington) Haines: 1) Sarah, b. March 28, 1763; d. March 16, 1766; 2) Hannah, b. April 26, 1765; d. September 2, 1822.

He is the son of Abram Haines and Grace Hollingshead.
