Biography

Isaiah was a Friend (Quaker)

From Richard Haines and His Descendants: "Isaiah (4th gen.) (Abram, Richard, Richard) farmer, of Evesham Twp., Burlington Co., N.J. b. 11 mo. (Jan.) 3, 1739/40; d. 11 mo. 13, 1801; m. Evesham MH, under the care of Evesham MM, N.J., 9 mo. (Nov) 12, 1765, Sarah Wilkins, b. 10 mo. (Dec) 8, 1744; d. 11 mo. (Jan) 19, 1809; daughter of Thomas and Mary (Core) Wilkins. Both are buried FBG, Evesham, Mt. Laurel, Burlington Co., N.J. He was the owner of a male slave, 9 mo. (Nov) 5, 1776, when he reported to Evesham MM that he intended to give the slave schooling and to set him at liberty at the age of 21 years. Isaiah died intestate. Letters of Administration were granted Dec. 1, 1801, to Core Haines and Joseph Haines. On Dec. 1, 1801, Gabriel Davis was admitted as the guardian of Thomas and Isaac Haines, minors over the age of 14 years."

Rachel Peacock. 6) Abraham,b. 5 mo. 7, 1776; m. Sarah Lippincott. 7) David,b. 4 mo. 27, 1777; probably died young. 8) Sarah,b. 12 mo. 30, 1778; probably died young. 9) Rebecca,b. 4 mo. 20, 1780; d. 9 mo. 25, 1825; m. Charles Burton. 10) Thomas,b. 12 mo. 29, 1783; m. Susannah Ballinger. 11) Isaac W.,b. 7 mo. 11, 1787; m. Elizabeth Haines (6th gen.) (Job, Benjamin, Abram, Richard, Richard) 12) Jacob,b. 7 mo. 11, 1787; probably died young.
