Private William Haines served with 2nd New Hampshire Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.
William Haines is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A053259.
William Haines was born 12 Feb 1746 in Epping, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire, the son of David Haines and Lydia (Cate) Haines. [1] On 25 Aug 1770 William married Judith Rowe of Brentwood, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire. [2] They settled initially in Wolfeborough, Carroll Co., New Hampshire, and had children as follows:
William was in the Continental army in 1777-79, in the Second New-Hampshire Regiment. After he came out of the army, he continued to reside in Deerfield until his death, in November, 1806, aged sixty years. [1][9] The 1800 U.S. Federal Census shows no females living in William Haines' household in Deerfield, suggesting that his wife, Judith, predeceased him, dying before 1800. [10]
