Benjamin Hale, born circa 1735, in Virginia.. According to Family Records of Jayne Peace Pyle, he was born in 1744 VA
He was the father of children including the following:
- Benjamin Hale, Jr. born 1767, in Lee county, Virginia, died 1810, marred Dicy Franklin on November 13, 1788, in Franklin county, Virginia
- John Hale born 1775 (possibly the husband of Sarah Moseley)
- Rachel Hale, born 1782, in Franklin county, Virginia, died 1845, married Josiah Via, born 1775, in Franklin county, a son of David Viers/Via
- Thomas Hale, born 1784
