Biography

KATHARINE TALCOTT HALE, daughter of Horace Hale & Abigail Talcott, was born in Glastonbury, Connecticut (usa), June 24,1827 (John Quincy Adams' 3rd year as 6th U.S.President). She married on Sept 02,1847 in Norfolk,Virginia, Richard Dickson, son of William Dickson,Sr & Mary Davis. Richard & Kate had two children before she died on June 30,1855 at age 28, 6 years before the American Civil War (Franklin Pierce's 3rd year as 14th President). Kate is buried in Norfolk's Elmwood Cemetery (1st burial in Richard Dickson's lot)
[Note]: Katharine died 6 days after her 28th birthday in 1855. I have not yet found documentation of her cause of death but there was an epidemic of Yellow Fever in the Norfolk/Portsmouth area in 1855, so maybe...
