Biography

Born 13 May 1689 in Newbury, Massachusetts - son of Thomas Hale and Sarah Northend Hale.

Married twice: first to Ruth Emery about 1711, daughter of John Emery and Mary Sawyer Emery and mother of his children; second to Mrs Sarah (Poor) Spafford, widow of Captain John Spafford, in 1736 in Rowley, Massachusetts. "Hale. Ezekiell, of Newbury, and wid. Sarah Spaford, Oct. 26, 1736."

Children mentioned in his will written in 1736: Ezekiel, Ruth, Mary, Edna, Sarah, Lydia, and Hannah Hale.

Died in West Newbury 15 April 1740 at 50 years of age. Buried at Walnut Hill Cemetery, West Newbury, Massachusetts.

Inscription: HERE LYES BURIED the/BODY OF Mr EZEKIEL/HALE WHO DEParteD/THIS LIFE ON the 15/Day OF APRIL A: D:/1740 & in the 50/FIRST YEAR OF HIS AGE
