A quiet but pretty wedding took place at St Mary's Church yesterday morning, the contracting parties being Mr. T. Donovan, only son of Mr Thomas Donovan of Gisborne, and Monica Mary Hale, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Hale, of Kaiti.
The bride was given away by her father. The bridesmaid was Miss Domonica Hale, sister of the bride, and the best man was Mr. James Hale, brother of the bride. The Rev. Father Lane performed the ceremony, and as the happy couple left the church, Miss Neill (organ) and Mr J. Vita (violin) played the Wedding March. After the wedding breakfast, which took place at the residence of the parents of the bride, the couple left for Motu, where the honeymoon will be spent.
