Alison/Addison Hale was a POW in the Civil War [1] [2]
The US Park Service gives his name as Addison Hale and his record as follows[3]
Hale , Addison
Battle Unit: 60th Regiment, Tennessee Mounted Infantry (Crawford's) (79th Infantry)
Side: Confederacy
Company: D
Rank In/Rank Out: Sergeant
Alternate Name: Alison/Hale
Film Number: M231 ROLL 18
Prisoner of War, US Civil War |
Allison Hale was not married to Elizabeth Kincheloe Davis. Allison died in 1864 during the Civil War [4]; Elizabeth died in the 1780s; even if they had been married, that would have put Allison Hale at nearly 65 years old when he enlisted in the military - not likely. Removed Hale as spouse. No evidence of marriage, and dates do not add up.
Find a Grave indicates he was married to an Elizabeth Kincheloe, and there is a marriage certificate indicating marriage on November 27, 1836; it could NOT be Kincheloe-27who died before he was born. [5][6]
