Biography

John Henry Haley/Healy was born January 29, 1836, the eldest son of Isaac William Healy and Amelia A. Keane of Annapolis, Nova Scotia^{[1] [2] [3]}

John was a merchant, and manager of Round Hill Wooden Ware Co^[4]

On January 3, 1864, he married Sarah Jane Whitman, the daughter of Dimock Whitman and Francis McLaughlin of Round Hill, Annapolis, NS^{[2] [4] [5]}. Their children included:

1. Nettie Healy, born Dec. 35, 1863^[4], who died in 1951, unmarried^{[6] [7]}
2. Cora A. Healy born May 30, 1865^{[4] [7] [8]}, who married Mockett Higgins in 1893 ^[9]
3. Frank H. Healy born Oct. 5, 1867^{[4] [7]}
4. Archibald W. Healy born Feb. 10, 1870^{[4] [7] [10]}
5. Fannie Healy born April 9, 1872^{[4] [7] [11]}
6. Rosa May Healy born Feb. 24, 1874^{[4] [7] [12]}, who married Samuel Newton Weare in 1900^[13]
7. Grace L. Healy born Dec. 24, 1878^{[4] [7] [14]}, who married Howard S. Barnaby in 1916^[15]

John Henry Healy died December 7, 1894, and is buried plot #130 in the Round Hill Cemetery in Annapolis County, NS ^[16]
