Biography

Eliza Jane was born in 1825 in Page, Virginia, United States. She was the daughter of John Hall and Elvira (Smith) Hall. She died in 1896 and was buried in Elkton, Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. [1]

When Eliza was about 17, she married James Hensley on 14 January 1842 in Page, Virginia, United States. The couple had 8 children: Martha E Hensley Monger., Silas Benjamin Hensley, Mary Hensley Hall, Thomas Ezra Hensley, Sarah Matilda Hensley McDaniel, Simeon Hensley, John Amos Hensley and Elvira Caroline Hensley Knight.[2] [3] In the 1850 census Eliza Jane (age about 25) was living in District 56 and A Half, Rockingham, Virginia, United States.[3]

In the 1870 census Eliza Jane (age about 45) was living in Elk Run, Rockingham, Virginia, United States.[4]

In the 1880 census Eliza Jane (age about 55) was living in Shenandoah, Page, Virginia, United States.[5]

Hale Hensley-1 and Hall-12155 appear to represent the same person because: they share the same birthdate and the same spouse, James B. Hensley. The difference in maiden names (Hall vs. Hale) needs to be rectified.
