We've recently received Hall information from DeKalb, Ill, and areseeking help and clarification from other Hall researchers. Thefollowing information is now in our possession.
Elihu Hall born sometime between 1750-1770. He had Eighteen(18) sons andone Daughter namely Phebe Hall. The Halls have connection toConnecticutt and New York and these children migrated to DeKalb, Ill.the first Hall to purchase land in DeKalb Co., Ill was Ephraim Hall b:1808 Connecticutt. The purchase was made in the fall of 1836. Appearingon the1840 Census heads of households were:
Ephraim Hall and Marcensus Hall b. 1812 and son Elihue Hall.
Marcensus later went to Sagamon, Ill, but son Marcenus Hall, Jr. stayedin DeKalb.

Orin S.HALL was born in Vermont 07 May 1800. According to later census information Orin stated that his father was born CT. and his motherborn Wales. It is not certain whether they married in CT. or VT.Searching for anyone who may have any clues as to this HALL line. At the time of Orin's marriage 01 Oct.1822 to Harriet JONES, a newspaper clipping states that Orin was of Middlebury. We do not know where they married but their first child was born 11 months later in UKN Co.,NY. Two daughters married VanAmburgh brothers of Allegany Co.,NY. (one in 1841 the other in 1845).Orin and Harriet were in Dekalb Co.,IL. prior to 1850; briefly in Rock Co.,WI; then in Sauk Co.,WI by 1850; two daughterslived in Lyon, Walworth Co.,WI.
