He said he was born a Franklin, but Y DNA indicates the disconnect to the Franklin surname occurred at or prior to Elijah Hall, the current Most Distant Ancestor (MDA) for this lineage. Y DNA testing places the Hall men squarely in the FY02 Franklin group in the Franklin project at Family Tree DNA.
