Ann married James Cotton on 6 April 1778 in the Anglican church at Arnesby, Leicestershire, England [1].
Ann's child Mary Cotton was born on 27 April 1780 in Shearsby, Leicestershire [2]. Her birth was recorded in the non-conformist registers.
By 1788 James had died in Jamaica and Ann moved to Kettering, Northamptonshire [3], presumably along with the 8-year old Mary. She leased her property in Shearsby to Robert Randall on 24 June 1788.
