In 1870, Mary lived with her parents and siblings in Mechanicsburg, Bland, Virginia, United States.[2]

By 1880, Mary's parents moved the family to Plymouth District, Mercer, West Virginia, United States.[3]

She married George William Scott in 1889, in Mercer, West Virginia, United States.[4]

They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 1 daughter.[5]

In 1900 and 1910, George and Mary lived in Plymouth, Mercer, West Virginia, United States with their children and relatives.[6][7]

In 1920, they lived in Mercer, West Virginia, United States,[8] and in 1930, they lived in Athens, Mercer, West Virginia, United States.[9]

She died on 4 October 1945, in Athens, Mercer, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 84,[10] and was buried in Athens Cemetery, Athens, Mercer, West Virginia, United States.[11]
