Benjamin Hall was born May 8, 1703, in Wrentham, Massachusetts, to Benjamin and Sarah (Fisher) Hall.[1][2] He married Betty Blake in Massachusetts on Nov. 15, 1727.[3]

Benjamin "was commissioned lieutenant by the crown", and eventually he and his sons James, Hananiah and Josiah, being tories, removed to Canada and settled near Toronto. He was a large man weighing some 400 lbs."[4]
