German Hall was born on August 15, 1805, in Connecticut, his father, Justus Hall Sr and his mother, Diantha Burch. He married Edith Chandler on April 8, 1830, Morgan, Ohio. He died on May 1, 1863, in Salem, Ohio and buried in Good Hope Cemetery, Washington County, Ohio.
