Biography

Postel Carter "Dock" Hall was born 3 Jan 1842. He was a son of C. A. and Aaron Hall. His siblings included John, [[Hall-18167|Harriet], Cinderilla, Thadius, and Lawrence.

1860 Census of Anderson, South Carolina.[1] Postel (18) lived in Anderson, South Carolina with Aaron Hall (64), C A Hall (50), John Hall (24), Harriet Hall (20), Cinderilla Hall (16), Thadius C Hall (14), and Lawrence P Hall (11).

He married Sallie A. They had a son Luther Whitefield Hall in Sep 1869.

1870 Census of, South Carolina.[2] P C Hall (28) lived in Varennes Township, Anderson County, South Carolina with his wife S A Hall (22) and son L W Hall (8 months). Another son, Orson L, was born Dec 1873.

1880 Census of South Carolina.[3] Postelle Caten Hall (47) and Sallie A Hall (32) lived in Varennes with their three children Luther L (10), Essie P (8), and Orien L (6).

Daughter Essie married Patrick Haynie.

1900 Census of Varennes, South Carolina.[4] Postell C (58) lived in Varennes Township (east part) with his wife Sara H (53) and sons Luther W (29), and Orson L (27).

1910 census of Varennes, South Carolina.[5] Postelle (68) and Sarah (61) lived in Varennes. All three of Sarah's children were still living. Son Orien and his wife Mary were their neighbors.

1920 Census of Vareenes, Anderson County, South Carolina.[6] P C Hall (78) lived in Varennes with his daughter Essie Haynie (47), Essie's husband P T Haynie (50), and their daughter Ruth Haynie (10).

Postal Carter Hall died 29 Jan 1924[7] at age 82. He had been a farmer. His parents were Aaron Hall and Clementine Norris. The informant of his death had been P.T. Haynie. He was buried at Flatrock Church[8] on 30 Jan 1924.

Mentioned in daughter Essie's Death Record.[9] Daughter Essie Haynie died 11 Nov 1934 in Anderson County. Her husband was Pat T. Haynie. Mentioned in son O. L.'s Death Record.[10] Son Oren L. Hall died 18 Dec 1949 in Anderson. His wife was Susie Brown. Mentioned in son Luther's Death Record.[11] Luther W Hall died 18 May 1950 in Iva, Anderson County. His wife was Clara Jordan.
