Biography

Born: Mildred A. Hall was born about 1790. She was the daughter of John Hall and Mildred Sandidage.

Marriage: On December 26, 1812, Mildred A. Hall, the daughter of John Hall, married Richard Dowell in Albemarle County, Virginia. Both were over the age of 21. Bondsmen were Richard Dowell and Peter Hall. [1] Mildred Hall and Richard Dowell married on the same days as their siblings Nancy D. Hall and Harrison Dowell with Peter Hall witnessing each marriage.

Death: She passed away in March of 1832 in Green County, Kentucky.

Probate: List of Sales of Estate of Mildred Dowell, by Harrison Dowell, adminstrator, dated March 28, 1832.[2] Final Settlement dated October 1, 1832.[3]

Mildred A. Dowell is appointed administratrix of the estate of Richard Dowell decd whereupon she together with Harrison Dowell her security entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of $3000 conditioned as the law directs and on her motion Walker J. Blades, John Edwards, John Blakeman and Aaron Blakeman or any three of them being first sworn appraise the personal estate of said decedent and report the same to the next court." (from Green Co., Ky. Deed Book #8,p.214, dated 19 July 1830)

"On the motion of Harrison Dowell he is appointed admr. of all and singular the goods and chattles of Mildred A. Dowell decd and had the proper oaths administered to him and entered into bond with John Blakeman and Paskel D. Craddock his security in the penalty of $1000 conditioned as the law directs, and on further motion of said admr. It is ordered that Johnson Radford, Walker J. Blades, John Edwards and Richard Brewer or any three of whom being first sworn appraise the personal estate and slaves if any of said Mildred A. Dowell decd and report the same to court."(from Green Co., KY.Deed Book #8,p.397, dated 19 March 1832)

"On the motion of Harrison Dowell admr. of Mildred A. Dowell decd, It is ordered that Thomas W. Lisl and Peter B. Atwood be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to state and settle their accounts as such." (from Green Co., KY. Court Order Book #8, p.414, dated 16 July 1832)
