William Tyler Hall and Amelia Merriman are suggested as the possible parents for James. M. Hall. William Tyler Hall died when a cannon exploded on a forth of July celebration and blew off his head in Manchester, Bennington, Vermont, United States. The M. in James middle name probably stands for Merriman, his mother's maiden name.
