"Joan (Hall) Shelton, 94, passed away in Owensboro, on May 11, 2016, with her loving family by her side. Joan was born on Oct. 29, 1921, in Rockport to the late Harlan and Melba (Butscher) Hall. Joan was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rockport, a member of the Eastern Star Garnet Chapter 146, and DAR. She loved doing genealogy study. The family would like to acknowledge her special team of caregivers who have provided wonderful care for her last years. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, 1st.husband, Marion Edward Heines in 1958, 2nd husband; M.C. Shelton in 2003, brother; Alan W. "Dubby" Hall in 2000. Joan is survived by her son, Stephen (Lisa) Shelton of Rockport; granddaughter, Sara (Shelton) (Clint) Novak of New Albany; grandsons, Kyle (Lauren) Shelton of Rockport; Seth (Morgan) Shelton of Rockport; great-grandchildren, Layla Shelton, Johnathon Shelton and Mia Shelton, all of Rockport; stepchildren, Janice (Johnny) Goodman of Owensboro, Edwin (Greta) Shelton of Owensboro, Ronnie (Patsy) Shelton of Owensboro; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ann P. Hall of Bedford, MS. Funeral Services will be noon Saturday, May 14, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Adam Payne officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations can be made to Western Ky., Hospice or Donor's Favorite Charity.
